Nel 2019 le precipitazioni non sono state scarse solo nei mesi invernali, ma si sono estese durante tutto l’anno. Tuttavia, il Douro e, nel caso di Niepoort, la sottoregione di Cima Corgo, sono stati fortunati grazie a due fattori compensativi: in primo luogo, i mesi estivi sono stati insolitamente freschi e, in secondo luogo, le precipitazioni tempestive del 26 e 27 agosto, oltre ad alcune le piogge molto limitate nella terza settimana di settembre si sono rivelate preziose. Di conseguenza, l'analisi dei mosti è stata molto equilibrata, con alti livelli di acidità, fornendo freschezza e magnifica eleganza. Nella cantina Vale de Mendiz, la vendemmia è iniziata il 2 settembre in condizioni favorevoli e le ultime uve sono state ricevute nella prima settimana di ottobre. La LBV viene imbottigliata al suo quarto anno, mantenendo la tradizione di Niepoort di privilegiare il più possibile la freschezza nei suoi vini.
