É fundamental que durante o envelhecimento a madeira não se sobreponha às características naturais da casta. O Quinta do Crasto Touriga Nacional é um vinho muito apelativo desde o início, com aromas primários muito expressivos. Com a evolução em garrafa, ganha muita complexidade, mas mantém sempre presente esta característica da casta.
