Alvarinho y Palácio da Brejoeira son casi sinónimos. Es la productora con más historia y tradición en la elaboración de vinos de esta variedad, y casi se podría decir que fue gracias a ella que el vino blanco Alvarinho se dio a conocer y tiene el estatus que tiene hoy. Quinta da Brejoeira está ubicada en Monção y es una propiedad de 30 hectáreas, de las cuales 18 son viñedos plantados exclusivamente con Alvarinho. El ex libris de la finca y de la comarca es su palacio, una grandiosa construcción de estilo neoclásico, de finales del siglo XIX (1806). D. Hermínia Paes presidió los destinos de esta magnífica propiedad y fue la gran impulsora de su éxito, obtenido de la destilación del “orujo” de la variedad de uva Alvarinho.
