With over 250 years of tradition in excellence, Ferreira has one of the finest cellars of Vintage Port in the sector, with wines dating back to 1815. Vintage Ports are exceptional wines from a single extraordinary year. Made from grapes from the Caêdo and Porto estates using traditional Port Wine technology. After selecting the grapes, crushing and destemming, a very intense maceration follows during the alcoholic fermentation period, through treading in granite lagares with controlled temperature. The balance and harmony of this Vintage, as well as its body and structure, are achieved through grape selection, the intensity of maceration, and the choice of the moment to stop fermentation. After the harvest, the wine remains in the Douro, undergoing the first racking during the winter and transported to Vila Nova de Gaia the following spring. Here begins the usual ageing process of Port Wine in oak vats. During this period, the wines undergo rackings, analyses, and tastings, which allow monitoring of their ageing.
