Das Jahr 1999 war eines der großzügigsten für die Qualität der Moscatel-Traube in Favaios. Die Trauben erreichten eine außergewöhnliche Konzentration, die es ermöglichte, diesen Moscatel voller charakteristischer Aromen der Rebsorte zu kreieren. Nach sorgfältiger Auswahl der besten Favaios-Trauben wurden sie wie in der Region traditionell mazeriert und fermentiert. Die alkoholische Gärung dauert sehr kurz, und kurz nachdem der Mantel aufgegangen ist, wird der größte Teil des Mosts entlüftet und der Brandy aufgetragen. Ein kleiner Teil des Mostes gärt und mazeriert noch einige Tage mit den Schalen, erst später muss dieser sehr aromatische Most ausgebaut werden. Der erste und zweite Likörmost werden dann gemischt und in sehr alten Holzfässern gelagert, wo der Wein langsam reift, wodurch sich sein Bouquet über Jahrzehnte hinweg verbessert und auch das aromatische Profil des Weins weiter entwickelt als Ihre Geschmacksknospen. Es ist ein wunderschönes Beispiel für die besten Moscatels, die auf dem Favaios-Plateau hergestellt werden. LIMITED EDITION
Geschmacklich zeigt der Wein die typische Süße des Moscatel de Favaios, die durch die für das Plateau charakteristische Säure sehr gut ausgeglichen wird.
Es präsentiert charakteristische Aromen der Sorte wie Orange und Mandarine. Es zeichnet sich außerdem durch Aromen von Honig, Rosinen, getrockneten Feigen und Karamell aus, die ihm eine große Komplexität verleihen.
