Alvarinho und Palácio da Brejoeira sind fast Synonyme. Es ist der Produzent mit der meisten Geschichte und Tradition in der Produktion von Weinen dieser Rebsorte, sodass man fast sagen kann, dass es wegen ihm ist, dass der Weißwein Alvarinho bekannt wurde und heute den Status hat, den er hat. Die Quinta da Brejoeira befindet sich in Monção und ist ein Anwesen mit 30 Hektar, von denen 18 ausschließlich mit Alvarinho bepflanzt sind. Das Aushängeschild des Anwesens und der Region ist sein Palast, ein grandioses Gebäude im neoklassizistischen Stil aus dem späten 19. Jahrhundert (1806). D. Hermínia Paes leitete die Geschicke dieses großartigen Anwesens und war die große Schöpferin seines Erfolgs. Vinifikation des Aguardente Velha Palácio da Brejoeira: gewonnen aus der Destillation der hochwertigen Alvarinho-Rebsorte, reift sie in Fässern aus französischer Eiche und bleibt bei konstanter Temperatur im alten Weinkeller des Palácio da Brejoeira während der Reifung zwischen 10 und 12 Jahren.
